MusicOntario Fundraising Campaign
This project was intended to promote a concert fundraiser for MusicOntario, a non-profit that focuses on supporting all members of the music industry in Ontario. For this campaign, the goal was to target MusicOntario’s primary audience while also attracting the attention of a new demographic for the company, fans of local indie music. The campaign aimed to gain new members for the company and gain traction for their fundraiser concert.

Drawing inspiration from past design styles and Ontario
The campaign design takes lots of inspiration from folk concert posters and design trends of the 1960s and 1970s. Since the event features local indie and folk musicians, the use of these trends like ornate illustrations and warm colours is likely to catch the eye of fans of those musical styles. Many design choices also tie into Ontario to highlight the local aspect, like the trillium flower and the use of green, the province’s official colour. The bold pops of orange and bright green modernize the retro feel of the design while being an eye-catching feature of printed posters.

A cohesive and eye-catching campaign
The result of this project is an engaging and cohesive campaign that succeeds in advertising MusicOntario’s fundraising event to their current and new audience while translating well to both print and web. The bold colour palette and design themes stood out to the client as being effective at drawing the audience’s attention. With more time, I would further expand the campaign into different mediums like motion.
